Carb problem

I'm looking into getting rid of the stock carb and putting an Edelbrock on. I have the 351 W with the 4 barrel carb on it right now. Do any of you know which Edelbrock carb will work? Thanks

Stock intake manifold? Any engine mods? Are you wanting any better millage and throttle response are you wanting more pull on the top end?

Everything is stock, but I'm thinking of getting a new intake when I replace the engine. Something that would get better mileage wouldn't be a bad thing.

Personally I like the throttle response on the 500cfm edelbrocks. I haven't swapped out on my 351m in my 4x4 yet but it will be getting a 500 cfm like the one I have in my comet soon. It's close to stock as well and the smaller primaries in the 500 cfm will give better throttle response and better mpg if you can keep your foot out of it all the time.

Either way if you do go with a edl carb the factory manual choke carbs are jetted richer than the manual choke carbs.

What's wrong with your current 4v?

I am the same way, never had good luck myself with a Holley even though I tried books and the old 60 minutes with Holley cassette. But can tune other carbs fine, go figure, lol.

Too much gas!

The problem ended up being too much gas pressure. The mechanical pump was putting out over 12 psi of gas. I put a fuel pressure regulator on it and inline gauge and gas mileage more than doubled.
