2004 e250 coolant temp sender

Hi everyone, would someone kindly tell me where the coolant temp sender is located on 2004 e250 4.6L? I was trying to find a diagram online, no luck. Thanks.

Post this same question in the Modular Motors sub-forum under the V8 section.

There's not a coolant sensor per se rather a sensor interfacing with the ECM which is translated into what we think of as coolant temperature.

Not sure how difficult it is to access or change one of those---have not yet had to address that as an issue.

This is the part I'm talking about;
FORD # 9U2Z-12A648-A

I thought that it's responsible for sending the correct temp to the dashboard gauge,

The coolant gauge needle randomly goes down a little even if the engine is hot, does anyone knows which part would be responsible for sending the signal to the dashboard?
