Haven't been on this site in a while(forgot about it). Anyways, hoping a few people on here might be able to help on this.

Bought a 08 crew cab missing engine and computer. Found the engine and trans harness. It came with a 4r70w in the bed. I have a low mile 5.4 2v crate motor. I'll be running it from the factory 4.6 computer. But, I see 2 different coded computers. I just need to find out what the difference is so I can order the right one. Everyone has been saying it has to match what came with the truck. But I don't know what came with it.

I'd like to know which of the 2 everyone has and what options their truck has (just basics)

There is a XUE1 and a AEM3 code between the different ecms. Just trying to establish a pattern to which is which. Could be difference of northern vs. southern climate, 2wd vs 4wd, tow package, or which plant it was built in.

The ford part number on your computer would be great for looking up which it is. Info from 2007 and 2008 owners here.

 

Computer number ends in FAD, GXB or GXC. Those are the 3 I'm looking for. It will be for a 4.6, 4x2, standard emissions.

Guess I'll take a shot with the GXB/GXC. Its the cheapest one, and the one I see the most used and refurbished. Ebay has some that are flashed to the newest program for a good deal.
