Apache(you don't list your name, but you put your birthday, this is a very personable group here and we like to use names as opposed to user names),

I seen you have posted about this steering box on a couple threads. Well I just looked at several years of Diplomat on Rock Auto and see no reference to any "Police package" in any of the steering gears. How about a brand and part number so us others who have that system may try it as well. Thanks

Ironically the first agency I worked at I drove a Diplomat and that is also the model (non-police) of the donor for my conversion.

I have no clue how to add my name and vehicle details to my posts, or add pictures.
My name is Ben. I obviously drive a 59 Chevy Apache fleet side short bed.(settled for this truck) as here in Ontario Canada a 1957-1960 ford short wide bed is something you read about in a book. Even my Apache short fleetside is super rare where I'm from.

if you go on Rockauto look up 1989 - Dodge - diplomat -steering - steering gear.
look for A-1 CARDONE 276515 {#3643334} Reman. Power with Police Package that should be the the box that was optional on the police cars.

I've put 300 miles on the truck since swapping to this steering gear and its a totally different truck. Its a joy to drive instead of exhausting!

Ben,

Thanks for the information. I looked at three or four different years of Diplomat, but of course not '89, figures.

Even though you drive a Chevy, welcome to the forum. You are here so obviously your blood runs blue.

Anyone with the volare steering box & the Saginaw pump, have a part number for the pressure hose or is this something I will need a hose shop to make for me?

Check on Ebay. I bought one there. Just search for Volare PS hose. I used a stock 89 Chrysler 5th Avenue power steering pump which is made by Saginaw.
