Yes, you can swap to any newer style front end. You will need to change the radiator support, fenders, hood, pretty much everything you can see on the front of the outside of the truck if you go '08+.
There is a thread in this forum of a swap from a 2000 truck to 2015 front.

It is an ambitious undertaking and parts for the newer ones seem to be a lot higher than the older ones. If all you want is better lights, you can upgrade that only. I have not done it myself, but believe you will need to trim your radiator support back behind the lights. If it was me I would try an upgraded sealed beam like a Sylvania Silver Star to see if you can live with that before you change the light type. The quality of the light output makes an amazing difference with a higher end bulb.
They kept those sealed beams as an option for a couple of years because they are so cheap and easy to replace for fleet service. They are getting harder to find as they are being phased out. For the better quality ones try a motorcycle shop, I know some Harleys used the exact same sealed beams used on some autos.

You can go up to 2007 with your existing hood and front fenders and its all bolt on. You will need a 05 thru 07 front header panel around 75 bucks, headlights with the cheater cables EBay, 05 thru 07 grill, paintable bumper pad and to do it the cheapest, I would get the bumper off craigslist but make sure it has all the hardware and bolt on brackets, sometimes you can get the pad with the bumper at a reasonable price. The only thing that has to be modified if you even want to mount them is two small inner grackets but I ran without them.
