2011 E250 4.6 Stalling on stop & turns
59,000 miles... I just had it at to the dealer to take a look & run codes. They replaced one coil, they said that was the problem. $450.00 later... Nope that didn't work. So, I took it back to them, they said it was the O2 sensor... so they replaced that! & that didn't work, still same issues. Bad dealer! (G.S. Ford FWB FL) So now I will fix this myself!
Any ideas where to start? I had the engine light on, and ran the code, it was lean.
I disconnected the battery a few times. so now there is no engine light on at all.
I cleaned the MAF, checked for vacuum leaks, unplugged each coil, and noticed a difference.
My guessing is a bad plug? maybe fouled when the coil went out.
or
MAF
IAC
throttle body

2011 is drive by wire. I don't believe it has an IAC.
Does it stall out on easy stops? Moderate? Hard?
Does it stall out on left or right turns? Both?
Is there a threshold on speed before it stalls?
How full is the gas tank when this happens?
I would recommend to go to a different dealer, then ask to go on a drive with a tech. Tell them you want to drive. Have the tech plug in IDS and have him look at live data.
I suspect a fuel delivery issue.

Ok if you actually said "Stalling" and they changed a coil/plug... I would refuse to pay that bill. Ain't no way a misfire would cause that. Even two cylinders totally dead wouldn't kill the engine.
My first thought when I heard "stalling on stops and turns" was the overdrive lockup not disengaging. We had a couple new vans that did this a few times but it stopped after they got some miles on them. I've had that problem with a Chevrolet car as well and unplugging some sensor that told it when to go into overdrive fixed that cheaply.
There is a product called Dr Tranny Instant Shudder Fix that helps with overdrive shudder issues and I wonder if it might prevent lockup problems also. Not sure if there's any other parts to replace for the overdrive lockup issue....?

Does it stall out on easy stops? Moderate? Hard? Yes all
Does it stall out on left or right turns? Both? Both
Is there a threshold on speed before it stalls? 20mph or less
How full is the gas tank when this happens? full & empty doesn't really seem to matter

Sounds like a good diagnosics! I didn't think of that! and yes the trans does feels different from when I picked it up last! they were supposed to fix the leak issue, well they didn't. they did reprogram the pcm and I'm still having this issue with the rebuilt trans they put in a year ago! I'm at 59,000 but 2 weeks now out of warrenty

SO, I Brought it to back to the dealer today,& they ran the codes. they said the stalling was the MAF. Then, On the trans leak, it was the seal torn where the driveshaft input is. so they fixed that. I guess I will buy a MAF and install that see if that fixes the problem. During our conversation, the Service manger said "We need to take this outside" said I was being unreasonable, lol I guess he didn't like our conversation in front of his customers when It wasn't going well for him when he told me I should of brought it in sooner, I said you don't return my calls, he says I wasn't in, I said I left you messages on your voice mail for an appointment. anywho they charged me $450 for that coil $130 of that in diagnostic's fee! They should know what's wrong with it! this is the 3rd time.

It's not uncommon in bad weather to have problems with our MAFs and need to unplug them temporarily. I'm guessing too much moisture gets through the air filter and mucks it up.

Yes, the MAF can cause stalling. If you are having a consistent problem with it stalling, unplug the MAF and see what happens. The engine computer will recognize the MAF is unplugged and just calculates an expected MAF based on RPM, throttle position and temperature. It will typically idle rough and burn more gas, but it will run and not stall. Don't leave it like this any longer than necessary though since it's hard on the cat.

I'm going off solely what the dealer told me today about the MAF.
Its definitely running lean, another local shop scanned the code when the light was on and told me that. I believe it! I can hear it ping as soon as I step on the gas just for a second! I'm getting horrible mileage which doesn't make sense when its lean, right? 11-12 mpg. I ordered 2 maf's I wasn't clear on the part number,
One should be in Wednesday.. I ordered a new reusable dry filter too! I do have a K&N filter installed, I took off my 99 when I sold it, but I haven't oiled it.
this is what I ordered.

UPDATE
The Hitachi one works great so far! It solved my stalling, at first the engine light was on, but I disconnected the battery for 20 mins, then it stayed off. I Also added that new dry filter. Its a bit thicker than normal, and my K&N filter. I had a hard time getting the band clamp back on this new one.
Finally got it all together.. Everything is working as it should now. Although the factory installed MAF that was in there, on the wire harness clip, It was broken and not locking in place! so, It could become unplugged. I'm guessing the dealer did this!! #@!%#rs (that could of been the problem after all!). I solved that problem for now, by securing it together, but I guess I need to order a new harness to get the clip working correctly.
Thanks for all your help!
I finally saved some $$ The dealer wanted $225 for a new MAF and said they would install it for free. I paid $52.
Also got this one on ebay for $23
