Sleeping quarters

Hey Guys and gals

One of the reasons I bought my Ex was so I can sleep in it. I do mobile DJ work, and that means festivals. Last year I ended up sleeping in the truck 28 nights. While it works quite well... some nights I'm not done working till 2am. I want to sleep in a little.... lol

I built 2 screens for the rear doors that attach with magnets, and they work pretty well, but an august morning in MN it doesn't take long for the heat to take over the inside.

I've been looking at these:
Amazon.com : NAPIER Backroadz SUV Tent, Green/Beige/Grey : Family Tents : Sports & Outdoors Amazon.com : NAPIER Backroadz SUV Tent, Green/Beige/Grey : Family Tents : Sports & Outdoors

This would allow me to open those windows, and the back door for more air movement. I could also carry a spare battery and run a 12v fan and a solar charger.

Have any of you folks used or tried one of these tents? The Napier site says it will fit an Ex. Hopefully a 4" lift and 35" tires don't throw that out the window... lol

Thanks!

I know people who have had them and liked them. There are ones which mount on the roof. I would just be sure of exactly what the height is from under the bumper to the top of the rear glass...the tunnel portion of that looks a bit narrow

I did find a review that a guy bought one and used it on his smaller SUV. He then tried it on his F250 that is lifted with 6" and said it was just a bit to tall, but he thinks the "better" model, a step up from this one would work.

I'm not sure how keen I am on spending that kind of money on a tent.... the next step up is $130 more than this one...

This one is 2 steps up...

Humm....

My friend bought the tent on the roof deal for his Honda Element Toaster. It seemed pretty nice. He felt more safe from bears--until I reminded him bears could climb!

YOU SLEEP AT BURNING MAN

Looks cool & if I spent that many nights in the truck I'd do it for sure. If the lift proved to tall you could just put down a platform to raise the tent a few inches.. Maybe even use a king size air mattress underneath

Naw I slept at WeFest, Kickin Up Country and Country Jam and a few other events.

I don't think putting a king air mattress under a tent is a good idea....
