Possibly bad injectors or lack of compression

I have a 2001 7.3 with 243k. I think the injectors are shot but other people including a local mechanic say it's not the injectors. What the truck does is smoke white. Sometimes little puffs when accelerating. Sometimes clouds that make the people behind you drop back a 100 feet. I have a ts6 on the truck and that alone with the 243k miles is enough to think its bad injectors. It smoke white. The exhaust is moist to the touch with soot built up like crazy. It doesn't really smell sweet and it's not really blue at all. It's getting horrible mpg. And lacks power. I don't have a high enough psi gauge to test compression. Tell me what you guys think. All arrows pointing to injectors?

A quick way to indentify compression without a gauge is checking blow by. Flip the filler cap upside down the filler, if it flys off no good if rattles of your ok.

I think I'd do an actual compression test if I had any doubt in my mind. Especially if I was considering dumping money into injectors.

I've done this test before and it just slid off. But the oil was kinda sticky and blue ish.

Pull the main idm fuse and crank it over. Listen for a consistent even crank.

Sticky and bluish oil? By any chance did you or someone added an oil additive such as Lucas? These engines hate oil additives change your oil and try her again. Also hows your fuel pressure? Hows your filter look like?

I haven't put any additives in. It is overdue for oil and filter change just haven't had the money. Think that could be a factor in my problems

Sure can, the injectors work using the crank case oil so it is very important to change it often. Try it its chrap and you need it anyways.

I did what you said and got a kinda an uneven crank. Like 5/8 cylinders were ok but some were weaker. I do have a weak battery tho and that might just be why it's doing the weak cranks. It also sounds like it's chugging at the exhaust instead of idling. Just a side now
