55 F-350 on CL

There is a real nice Meadow Green 55 F-350 for sale on Craig's List for $7000. He says it has 27,000 miles but I would guess that it turned over. I would think the mat and seat would be in better shape for a 27,000 mile truck. The needles in the gauges are very faded It is a flatbed but not a Ford script bed.

here is the link:
ORIGINAL '55 Ford F350

Here is the truck:

The guy just got back to me about the location. Even though it was on the State College or Penn State Craig's List, he said he is near Erie, PA

That truck is 10 miles from me. I just heard it was for sale last week! It used to haul apples and farm stuff. When I saw it 2yrs ago, they had not yet painted it. I drove by it last week and it was out of the barn and saw it was all dolled up. And yes it could be the actuall mileage.

A lot of farm truck got used a lot, but hardly ever left the farm. So 27K miles is possible.
That is one nice looking truck.
I know I'm a bit **** retentive, but I sure would have painted the needles when he had the gauge cluster out. I don't know, maybe he did the painting with it still in.....

I guess it is possible that the mileage is accurate if the truck rarely left the farm. But I would think the floor mat would be in better shape. I guess if the truck sat outside not being driven the needles would fade from the sun.

In any event it is a nice truck, especially considering all the snow Erie gets. But if it was driven much it avoided the salt on the road.

If it had a hoist and were a dump bed I would be interested.

It wouldn't take much to convert it to a dump bed. Go for it.
The color is right.

Yes, and we would never be enablers.

That truck will fit right in to your stable. We want you to have it.

Well, Erie is only 3 hours (by a fast car) away from me.... It is Meadow Green. It is in good shape. I could probably drive it home. But how much would it cost to put a hoist in it? And I would have to find a buyer for my 70 F350. And I just paid for the paint job on my 54.

Are we sure, I spy a red **** on the dash, usually indicates a hoist. I have a PTO for a T-98 (but none of the cables etc.) if that will help any.

I am not complaining, I've been waiting for the stock in these to start rising but seems a little spendy for a tonner. It does have a lot of things going for it though.

I think that red **** is the four way flashers. A hoist would need two levers through the floor boards or two ***** if on the dash, one to engage the PTO, one to lift and lower the bed.

Found another F350 flatbed! This is a 56 for only $3150 right now. But in worse condition. And in is Whitehall near Allentown which is closer to me than Erie. It does have some rust issues at the inside of the fenders.

And, the script bed would be a plus on this one. A plus if that tail gate is not cobbled onto the rear member of the bed.
