1948 F-6 Gas tank Fuel Gauge and Sending Unit
I have replaced the fuel gauge and sending unit:

But it's still not registering gas? I don't have a lot in the tank, maybe 3-4 gallons. But I still thought it would move it.
The fuel gauge has 6v with a ground, etc.
I think this tank holds 20 gallons.
Ideas? Thanx.

Guess all you can do 'or what I do is' turn key on and at the tank just ground the
sender wire with a jumper. Needle should go to full if so gauge and wiring is good.
Next take the sender out and ground the sender and manually work the float
does the needle move now? If it does you probably have to tweak the sender float
rod by measuring the depth of the tank and measuring the float "drop on sender"
then bend the rod so it has about 2 inches to bottom of tank so when it reads empty
you don't start walking. Two inch clearance is your reserve. Then I think 3,4,5 gals
isn't very much maybe the gas isn't even touching the float???
