Towing with the V-10

I have a 2009 F250 CC, SB, 4x4, V10 with 4:10 gears . Looking at buying a Nu-Wa Hitchhiker 29.5 fifth wheel . The fifth wheel weighs 9850 dry with a GVCW of 13500 and a Hitch/pin weight of 2060# . Would like input on what you all think with the V10 motor ? Thank in advance .

Your '09 has a more powerful 3V V-10 than mine as well a better trans with an extra gear and more controls available. With that being said, our 2V V-10 powered EX is our dedicated tow rig for our 41' 11,000lb TT that we just parked back in the driveway after a ten day vacation in TN. We were able to get 8.85 MPG from a tank of 89 Octane between Verona VA and Dandridge TN, which is ALL mountains on I-81/40. The V-10 makes a fine tow vehicle power plant!

It will tow it just fine. It will drink the fuel though, but so do the new diesels. You may want to consider some airbags for the F250.

My TT isnt that heavy. About 9000lbs. But i did like how it towed better after adding the 5star tuner. Barely notice the trailer back there

I think that will be a very nice truck trailer combination and for what I think of the V10.... It's the closest you can possibly get to a diesel engine from any stock gas engine currently and my 06 does a impressive job with 22k behind it on small hills.

It should be fine. I have an 01 F350 with the v-10 and an SCT tuner. Tow a Montana 5th wheel with a 2160 pin weight.....and it is 36 feet long. Mileage is not that good at about 8-9 mpg. Trailer and truck at the scales was..front wheels....3700 pounds.....rear wheels with 5ver hooked up.....was 6300 pounds and 5ver tires was....11,600. Ended being about 600 lbs. over for the gvw but tows fine.
