Going over curbs

I have to back up on my curb to get my trailer whenever i need it. about 5 inches high. Will this damage my suspension? I make sure not to fly over the curb, i make the wheels touch it, then give it gas to go over.

I don't see how it could hurt anything.

When I jump a curb I try to approach it on angle
so I hit one wheel at a time. Just seams to be less
throttle needed.

You would damage a tire/rim before any suspension components and you won't to that if you are merely creeping over it.

Your friend must drive a lamb tough Dodge. Driving over a cigarette butt can damage the suspension in one of those.

I'd be more worried about the 6.2 having enough power to push the trailer over the curb I think the torque of a diesel is definitely required for curbs over 4 inches.

I have a curb, probably 4 inches, at the place I store my boat. I just keep a 2x4 with the boat and lay it out flat in front of the curb so I go up & down the curb in steps.

I'd recommend building up the curb if you are going to do this a lot.

Some rebar and cement and make a ramp.

I know some of these are tongue in cheek comments but if ANY are serious...get real. I drive over 5" curbs in a slow, controlled manner with an ancient Volvo on almost a daily basis with a rip-roaring 119 hp and stock 15" rims.

Hitting a curb at speed could damage a tire...enough speed and could damage a 20"+ rim. In reality, those speeds need to extremely excessive even for that.

Holy crap put it in 4wd and go like mad...if she breaks something was ready to break...Seriously us guys who use their trucks as work trucks know fords are tough. you shouldn't be able to break anything...IMHO. Drive it like you stole it.

I have an inboard powered boat where the shaft & prop are underneath the boat towards the back. There is a cage that provides some protection however it is still possible to damage the shaft or prop. Better safe than sorry.
My 98 F150 V6 stick had enough power to push the trailer over the curb.

Do it gently but deliberately. You don't want to be in the throttle part way loading up the converter with the wheels chocked for any time so get on with it.
I have a few funny (not at the time) instances of running over curbs I didn't see at 30+ mph.
