Timing chains too tight?

Timing chains too tight?
I posted this I. The modular section, but I'm hoping I can get a quicker answer here.
I am in process of doing cam phasers and an all new timing set on my 04 5.4. The phasers are from ford, but the rest is Cloyes. I have everything installed and the chains are super tight. So tight I had to pry on the tensioners to get the holes to line up. Is this normal? Will the chains stretch on startup? Also I triple checked all the guides are in the proper place. The tensioners didn't even move when I pulled the pins.
Thanks

Sounds like the wrong chains. There is no way they should be that tight. Count the links on the new chains and the old ones and see if you have the same number of links and you may want to take one off and measure it against one of the old ones. If they are the same length and number of links then something else is wrong. sounds stupid but do you have the chains running on the inside of the guides and not the outside?
