5.4 super duty engine removal

None of it is really hard just time consuming. When we do them the first thing we do is suck out the freon and pull the grille, headlights, radiator, condenser, and the upper core support bar. Everything is a lot easier to get to then. Are you putting a new or used engine in? I can not stress enough to put new exhaust manifolds and manifold studs in while the engine is out. Replacing the manifolds in the truck isn't the worst but when the studs break and you have to drill and extract them while the engine is in the truck is a giant PITA.

Could never find much info so I am just diving in.
I am putting in a rebuilt long block that I bought at NAPA.
I have removed the grill, radiator, condenser, core support, intake, ac compressor, alternator and am in the process of removing the cab mount bolts and jacking up the cab as I see no way that the engine can be lifted high enough for the oil pan to clear the cross member otherwise.
Also my overhead I beam is useless for this and I will borrow a cherry picker.
I will post some pictures
I REALLY REALLY HATE the cab forward design.

I forgot that I started this thread but I did replace the engine and it was a real pain but manageable.
I did it with a overhead hoist, there was just enough room to clear the firewall.
I ended up jacking up the cab and putting 6 X 6" blocks under it while I did the work. I could see no other way to raise the engine enough to clear the mounts.
