Who has the best price on OEM Oil Cooler
#76
Well dang Benny. Hate to hear it's being a pain in the butt. As you know we've had some posters with repeated coolant issues after what sounded like solid repairs. I really think some of these trucks are more prone to corrosion issues for what every reason. If you decide to repair it,,,again,,, maybe a sacrificial anode would be worth some research. I remember seeing those often "back in the day" but it's not a common thing anymore.
One thing for sure, you know what parts you need and how to get 'r done.

I am shocked that it went that fast.
Stupid question maybe. Have you checked the water pump impeller
to make sure that it's not loose on the shaft?
Gold should not fail that quickly. EDIT : I see that you have Final Charge in the system.
If you do this job again it might be worth pulling the radiator and
having it cleaned. That way is there is crud hiding in there you don't
get it into a clean system.

Rusty it has to be that or the pump impeller is slipping on the shaft.
Benny is that the original water pump in your truck or one of the metal ones?

Could it be crap stuck in the heater core and radiator tanks ?
That is why my thinking about having a shop clean the radiator.
I know it will cost in coolant but have you thought about trying to
back flush the cooler and just let it drop out on the ground from the drains?
Also if you can inject some air into the flushing water to make a lot
of turbulence to kick the crud loose.
