HGTV

Do not, I repeat DO NOT let your wife start watching this subversive crap. This morning being Saturday I had a mental list of stuff to do on the woodie, but first she wanted me to investigate why it smelled all 'mousey' at one end of the kitchen... Suffice to say the sink is now on sawhorses and the walls are down to bare studs. OK, there was about 10 lbs of dogfood mixed in with the insulation and enough mouse crap to start a global hanti virus outbreak, and now we're going out to dinner. We decided we need to start with a martini or two. Sheesh........Goddam Chip and Jojo anyhow..

Well, they do have the better sense of smell for a reason. It needed done. The only sign of mice I ever find is when one of the girls brings me a present from outside.

I hate house jobs that you can't see when they are done. I'm replacing the shower wall and tile in the basement bathroom, and the only ones to see it will be the dogs when they get bathed. But it needed to get done. I did prioritize time, though, to take care of a woodie transmission. Stu

Don't know about the mice in your neck of the woods but a full grown roof rat that we have here in SoCal can fit through a hole the size of your thumb. During my remodel I chased a mature roof rat into the kitchen and it disappeared at full speed down a hole where a 1/2" gas pipe used to be. Luckily I was single at the time or I'm sure those rats would have causes a divorce in short order.

Got 2 cats that take of anything thats in the house, good thing as I used to have lowlifes next door that loved living in a mouse infested basement. Cats have boyfriends that keep the property clear.

I call those channels the "Home Improvement ****" around here. When my lovely young wife starts a sentence with "I've been thinking" it's time to hide. We recently painted the kitchen and asked my daughter (15) what she thought. "That color makes the cabinets POP!". I got rid of cable and satellite not realizing that netflix has entire seasons for your binge watching pleasure...

Can you still have an out house? They are making people get rid of them here, no longer legal unless they have a contained tank and can be pumped. What's the world coming to.

When we lived in the 10 x 14 cabin we built before the house we got a 5.00 'privy' permit. Still an outhouse in the woods behind the cabinet shop for employees. They might be illegal here now too, but they'd have to see it in the deep woods first. I got to the tv first this morning so I'm watching a Toby Keith concert. He hasn't torn out or fixed a single thing yet. Gotta get off my azz and work on the woodie soon. New cabinets will be right around the corner, but Danny will build the new base cabinets when he starts on a cut list he generated for our next job. The plywood comes from the mainland on Wednesday, so I have a short window until then.
