Spring 2016 General BS Thread

I believe I'm going to make a parts run this morning, and see how far I can get on those axle seals, and rear brakes on the back end of Ka'Bluey. I'm sure I'll need an air powered or electric impact to get that yoke off in order to do the Pinion seal.
With the lights working I'd sure feel better about driving the ol' guy a bit more.
Hope y'all have a great day

Tony, I actually have some grass that I really should mow too. Truthfully, that even sounds better than being squatted down for a few hours playing with a leaking rear axle. And the multiple trips from the driveway to the shed back and forth getting tools.

I hear ya. For me its 13 steps down the stairway beside the carport and back up every time I need tools...

Well so far I've managed to get the grass cut. I almost needed another lawn mower. But after about 15 minutes of jacking with it, it finally started. Truthfully, I was having flashbacks from a few years ago when I did finally SNAP, and drove Ka'Bluey over the last mower that had me this bent out of shape. Now the carb is leaking,, and on the last pull of the rope, it pulled right off of the flywheel.

I decided to finally break down and bury my electrical line, and run a new water line so I don't have to keep pulling a hose around the yard. I got a dog pen up front to the edge, and beside that is my chicken coop, and garden so instead of dragging a 150' hose around the yard all summer I'm trenching in a water line.
I got some 3/4" hdpe, it's basically like the irrigation line you'd run for sprinklers. I got 90' of it trenched and buried, had to run get fittings to splice it together. Just ate a bit for lunch, about to go finish this bad boy up so I can have me some water down there.

Sounds like everyone is out enjoying this weather. I also hear you about having to walk to get tools. They do make crash carts though. I did the work thing today, but with the company call being cancelled I actually punched the clock at 5 and started back to the raking of the back yard. It's almost complete, well, the area that I rake every year. I got the fire going as well, small branches and pinestraw. Makes a good smoke signal though. I'm debating breaking out the chain saw and cutting up the larger branches to go in the barrel as well, or just breaking down and setting fire to the whole lot!

Bunch of busy bees around here. Warm weather has everyone stirred up.
Larry, you got quite a homestead going on your new (well not so new now) property.
Josh, I vote a big pile of brush, lots of gas, and a match. Your neighbors will love the smell. You'll be doing them a favor by providing aroma therapy.
Bob, I had no idea a smoker cost that much. I also had no idea you would spend that much on a smoker. I know you are serious about your cooking but glad you are putting that money into your truck. We need it running for the spring fling. You know, so we can tear it up again.
Yall have a good rest of the week.

I was doing a brake job on an Olds Cutlass and the customer asked me if I could lower the car so he could get some "Smokes" out. (I had it on a 2 post lift). I walked around to the other side where the controls are, and lowered the car. Not too far into this, I heard this expensive crash sound. Yup, it was my Snap On tool cart that I dropped the car on top of. And I did try, but Snap On Tools will not warranty a cart that you over loaded by a few pounds.

Been out and about in Ka'Bluey. No leaks in that axle, next is the Pinion seal. I also fixed the cord I broke starting the lawn mower this last Tuesday. Now to find that fuel leak.
BBQ'd ribs leftovers for lunch, now to see if I can get that tool box I got from Kurt, out of the brown truck, and in the bed of Ka'Bluey.

Hey Kurt, thanks again for that tool box, I got it in the back of Ka'Bluey, now to see where and how to mount it. I may move my spare tire that is now right behind the cab, to a bed side. Then I can mount the tool box behind the cab. The bed on Ka'Bluey is a bit wider than the tool box is, but I'm sure I can make it work.
