It's a long shot, but I was just wondering if any of you are from Waynesburg.

Anybody ever race at the Magnolia drag strip?

MAGNOLIA Drag strip..............oh ya, been there, done that.

Mention Battlestar Galactic and see who knows me.
1964 Galaxie wagon running the nostalgia stick class. I have not run there but once in the last couple years. I run Dragway 42 most every weekend. Was there July 27th, had fun, took runner up. Traction was better then ever was before. Real change of pace. I ran there 94-97 every weekend, then started going other places when the traction became a real problem.

I stop in to say Hi once and a while.

It was great to see them re-open that strip. Apparently it was all the rage back in the day.

I have friends who raced there back in those days. A couple now race there occasionally. It is the reason I got into racing more full time. I had been to QuakerCity a couple times with my pickup truck. Once they opened Mag, I put the motor in my wagon and started racing it. They have a stick shift class, so it's perfect.

Old stick shift cars are the things I like watching the most, but being IN the class means you don't get to watch much. If the day comes I can't afford to run car with a stick, I'll put it back on the street . My wagon was a 289 3 spd/overdrive car originally....I did not convert it from an automatic. Automatics are BORING . Don't own one.
