78-79 Front Dana 60 Sway Bar Links

78-79 Front Dana 60 Sway Bar Links

I have a 75 F-250 4X4 Highboy. I will be installing a 78 Dana 60 front axle assembly soon.

The Dana 60 has a sway bar, but the PO torched the end links when he removed it, so I have only half of the link on each side.

I can't find end links for sale anywhere, only bushing kits.

The end links are like a dog bone, eyelets on each end & offset to clear the leaf springs I think.

Anyone know where to find any or have any for sale. I would need the brackets that mount to the frame also.

Thanks,
Tim

Thanks for the links. May not be a direct bolt on, but maybe I can modify to work if I can't find the origonals.

Here's part of a pic of them on Bill Vista's site. 4th pic down with this write up next to the pic.

"The RCD60 has a high pinion diff - notice how the pinion enters above the centerline of the axle tubes. On an RCD60 the centerline of the pinion is 1-1/8" above the centerline of the axle shafts."

Would the 78-79 Dana 44 sway bar links be the same?

My sway bar is 1" diameter.

Here's another pic (bottom right) on LMC's site, but the link isn't for sale. Doesn't specify Dana 60 or 44.

I can ck the diameter of my blue trucks front and rear sway bars for you. It has a D44 fnt, D60 rear.

I think Skyjacker has them for lifted trucks?

The sway bar links on my front Dana 60 are 9/16" diameter. That's the rod diameter, not where they mount. If it's not too much trouble a pic of your front sway bar links & how they mount to the frame would be helpful. If you can't get a pic that's fine too.
Thanks

Those illustrations are different than mine. They look to be for 2wd & f150 4wd, but thanks for them.

Has anybody done a 78-79 front Dana 60 & sway bar swap into a 73-77 1/2 f250 highboy?

Will the 78-79 sway bar links work on a highboy or will they be too short because the 73-77 highboy sits higher than a 78-79?

Thanks.

F150 F250 same same. Yes oops I was just dragging sway bar diagrams. If skyjacker sells a lift kit for a high boy and a low boy (which they do) their tech guys should be able to tell you if there is a length difference.

The f150 4x4 front links in the diagram have an eyelet on the top & a stud on the bottom.

My Dana 60 link has eyelet & eyelet mounting. The sway bar is mounted on the backside of the whole axle assembly, not on the front like the f150.

Thanks for the info about Skyjacker. I may have to get a link through them.

Just seeing if anybody ran into this when they swapped a 78-79 Dana 60 front axle into a 73-77.5 f250 4X4 factory highboy.

Thanks,
Tim
