1953 flathead bellhousing

So, i recently got a hold of a 8BA flathead V8 and i'm planning to put it in my 1954 F-250. The truck currently has a T98 transmission and i'd like to keep it that way. So far i understand that to mate the T98 to a flathead you need a 1953 truck bellhousing, now the question is how scarce these housings really are and where is the best place to look for them. It would be nice to get as much as possible to be more or less bolt on.

Yep i got one and i got lucky to find it . it's in use and not for sale . got a t98 in my 53 f100 . try posting in the classifieds on here you might get lucky . i even got one of the truck 'housings for the light duty 3 gears and i wouldn't part with it either as i just do not know how hard it would be to find another .

Thanks for the reply, seems like it's going to be tricky to find one. It would be nice to have everything more or less bolt on, mainly to keep the swedish vehicle inspection happy. `
What would be my other options? As i see it, the E-brake have to be modified aswell as the gearshift and clutch/brake pedal geometry if i change the transmission. Probably even more things then that.

I did not have to mess with anything when i swapped the t98 in . and i mean nothing it was a complete bolt in . the only thing i did was remove the parking brake / emergency brake from the t98 as my 53 was equipped with the light duty 3 speed originally and has the more common parking brake setup next to the clutch on the far left . i had all the stuff including the trans cover to use the setup on the t98 but the oe setup my 53 had was just more desireable to me .so in essence you should not have to mess with a dain thing just bolt it in and go !

Not familiar with what your stock trans setup was like but on the earlier trucks the stock trans is shorter than the t98 trans of that era 51 52 ish. so driveline shortening would be in order.
Did you not have to shorten yours for the 53 and up t98?
Just wondering since im not really familiar with them.

I would not think they are that hard to find. Although its a 1-year-only part, most 1953 F350s, F500s and F600s had 4 speeds in them so if they had the original flatheads, the berllhousing would fit your '54 with the flathead.

Pic: Scroll down to 7505 and look at the parts catalog applications for TBAC-7505-A

C = F100 / D = F250 / Y = F350 / T = F500 / TH = F600 / W = F500 COE / WH = F600 COE
