Hey Garage Junky
One vote for getting it in primer & driving it! Trying to make these
old trucks perfect is a thankless, endless task. Get it moving again and work
out the kinks. You'll be busy but it won't be mindless sanding, grinding, & sanding...

Do yourself a favor and buy a set (2) of 3M fairing boards. These sanding boards are 4-1/2 X 30 inches and are used primarily in the boat trades. DIY bodymen seldom come in contact with these tools but believe me...once you use them you will wonder why you ever fought a short board when trying to smooth a large relatively flat surface like a door skin or hood.

Hello everyone I am back. After a lot of thought I decided to take the summer off and enjoy my family and friends. Now with the weather cooling down a bit I am very eager to get back to it. I will be moving it back to my shop very soon. Pictures of my progress will be uploaded as I complete the work. My goal is to complete the truck by April 2nd and weather permitting take it on its maiden voyage for my birthday.

I am new here and this is the first I've seen of this thread but will be following along as my build is a 53 with c4 suspension and 408 stroker AOD combo . I found that the wheel offsets are difficult to work with unless ordering custom built rims . What direction are you going with rims and also front sway bar ?

I just set the rear fender there to give you an idea. It actually sits about 4" higher.

I was wondering how your rears would fit but you have the wider fenders . I have purchased my rims but had to have very high offset for the rear ( factory zr1 ) and would have liked to get a positive for the front but had difficulty finding rims with both in proper offsets so I had to settle for a 0 offset on the front 17 x8 front and 17x 10.5 rear
