From my own experience many of these horror stories are so significantly NOT epidemic across the Ford brand I take simply take them as small problems befalling a very few owners. Sure any problem that disables a vehicle for a time or costs money to repair or is just an annoyance is significant to those who experience it but over all Ford makes a quality vehicle. Mind you this comes from a life-long GM fan.
The "problem" with forums like FTE is we're prone to post questions about problems, few of us start or contribute to threads about how well our stuff is running or doing its job.
That's my $0.02 worth anyway...........!

interesting, care to share more? thats not good when you have to yell at someone infront of the entire dealer but meh, I know I wasn't thril;led when I spent the time to get the parts required (for the local dealer) to fix the power steering issue I had with the stang and only broke out even as far as cost...but meh....

in october of 14 i had to get a new car for my parents because they could no longer get into the mercury milan they were using. i wanted a ford edge. i had a salesman trying to talk me into a taurus because i guess he felt i could not afford the edge because of the way i was dressed.
i told him to go get the manager. he balked, so i called the owner of the dealership on my cell phone who came down, gave me the car at $1000 over cost and the salesman liked to break his jaw when it hit the floor after i pulled out $9,000 in hundred dollar bills to use as a down payment.

Well no horror story to share . thought i would be different and share how well mine works . my 53 with a flathead v8 still got me around daily , got it's but worked off , and had no major issues outside of the "rats nest of wiring." . i took it apart 4 years ago now to repair some things and have not quite gotten it back together but for 59 years no issues so ....

well I know with my 1995 F150 while I was starting to fix various pieces from wear and teat that truck aside from the one major issue with the 4x4 T-case breaking ran very well and was a stout truck, heck I still kind of miss the truck even though I got a good F250 thats tons bigger and better in a lot of ways, but hey if I ever see my F150 out there and I can I would buy it back and keep it!
