Speaking of Chrome...not that we, umm, were

As of late, there have been numerous spray chrome options made available to the aftermarket for consumer purchase. There are quite a few YouTube videos and advertisements, and even a Jay Leno's Garage segment on spray chrome.
Does anyone in FTE have any experience with any of these spray chrome offerings? It's a given that material prep is paramount, but, my concern is about longevity. This seems to be a paint application process which leads me to believe that it will be subject to damage from road debris, oxidation, and normal wear and tear.
Feedback would be appreciated as I am considering an entry level kit for spray chroming.

When I looked into this a few years ago to DIY the startupdollars were very high.
I also looked into having someone do it for me that had akit and it was still too high for me. So re-chroming was the way to go when thetime comes.
Also from what info I got the coating is what they use formirrors but check to make sure.
For bumpers I have also seen on the web & YouTube usingchrome wrap. They said it would last about 6 months then got cloudy. You thenremove it and re-wrap it again.
For smaller things like light reflecting areas like taillight housings get the area glass smooth, no pits etc. Then paint it black, again keeping it glass smooth. Then use the so called spray can chrome paintkeeping it glass smooth.
I have not tried any of the above it is just what I foundwhen looking to re-chrome 70 AMC Javelinbumpers and front has a lot of surface area.
