tailgate swap
Anyone know if newer stamped tailgate "super duty" will fit older 2007 model ?
I have a 2007 F 350 SRW and like the newer stamped "super duty" tailgate.
Thought I might look around for a wrecked truck with maybe good tailgate if it would fit standard eight foot bed on my 2007.
Have not measured mine yet, or newer ,just thought maybe somebody might know?

1077 yes there are many here who have done that, only part you need is the drivers side hinge plate that bolts to the bed, costs under $10. u change the hinge plate to give the gates internal torsion bar a place to lock.
there are two main styles of the embossed tail gates call it early and late. early has one style line above the super duty, late has a second style line up higher
its also nice if u want a B-up camera to get one with the OEM camera in the handle or badge depending on year of gate.
as a security measure add a hose clamp around the pass side hinge so it makes it harder to steal our expensive tail gate. the newer gates in my area are aprox $500 for early, no step no cam, to $1500 cam, step, and platinum cover

I just have a plain 2000 tailgate and it got stolen from a hotel parking lot several years ago. A dealer around here had a bunch of tailgates and catalytic converters get stolen too. Once meth got popular here the junkies started stealing anything they could get their hands on.
