IPR problem i think

I have a 1998 international rollback , motor is stamped 1997 . I cut the truck off 45 minutes later went to restart , engine turned over and no start so I was told by a local shop replace the cam sensor so I did and still nothing then someone said clean the ipr so I did still nothing . another told me I got a bad cam sensor so I went this time to dealership for it , put in now truck starts runs about 20 seconds and sounds like it coming apart , any help would be greatly appreciated . Thanks

What does coming apart mean?? Did you disassemble the ipr and clean it? Did you put new orings on it? As much info as you can give us will help.

Welcome to fte.

What is the fuel pressure? Low fuel pressure can cause injector knock. It may be the cause of a hard start also.

Check the fuel filter and make sure it is not gummed up. You can check fuel pressure with a regular tire gauge. There is a shrader valve on the drivers side of the bowl. I think it is 20psi while cranking and a minimum of 40 while idling. Closer to 50 is better but it will run at 40.
Fuel pressure is not affected by the IPR.
