Birthday drive (pictures)
I have been spending a lot of of my free time lately over at a friends welding a BBQ island and not enjoying the wife's 52 or my 56. Last weekend Lois asked if for my birthday she and Belle could take me for a spring ride to Bagdad. I know for some of you it's not spring but it has been around here for most of February, we might even have desert flowers (we didn't). The trip took us from Rimrock through Clarkdale up to Jerome and over Mingus mountain to Prescott. From there we dropped off the high country to Skull Valley and on to Bagdad for a great lunch at the diner, us and about 50 bikers. The return trip took us through Kirkland junction to Wilhoit, up the hill to Prescott then over to I 17 for the last few miles home. Took most of the day and 250 miles of easy cruising in Belle. We manage 22.5 miles per gallon for the trip and I even got to drive on the return trip. Her are a bunch of photos I took from and of Belle on our adventure. If you are still working on your truck this is what makes it worth while.
The area around Jerome, an old copper mining town.
Our trip took us to 7000" elevations with temps in the thirties and a little snow still on the ground
Leaving Prescott on out way to Skull Valley.
Arizona can change in a hurry. An hour ago we were at 7000' and temps in the 30s, now were at 3000' and temps in the upper 70s.
Getting close to Bagdad. Photos stop here since I was allowed to drive on the trip home and Lois was too busy looking around to take photos.

Not only do our trucks make us happy but having a better half like yours and I must say mine makes these trucks a little better. I still need some work on mine to make it a daily but it is getting closer and my wife said to get it done so we can take day trips or whatever . I am sure all of the fte'ers have a good better half or we would be living in the camper in the bed that we would have to install. Rimrock the mountains are inviting. The pictures do build a fire under me so out to the shop I go. Thanks for the pics for us up in sorta flat land.
