There's an ad on my local craigslist for a 57 Chevy wheat truck, probably the equivalent of our F6/600, in remarkable shape. The cool part is the owners wrote the maintenance record in pencil inside the drivers door jamb.

Very nice truck. I like the custom latch on the dispatch box lid. It could be the answer to Don Vito's problem.

Beautiful truck, indeed. Prettiest series of truck Chevy ever built. I am surprised it has the V6. I was under the impression that the General Motors truck V6 was a GMC only engine of that era. Or was it a typo?

Ray, I thought the same thing about the V-6. My books are in NY but the engine is probably a 261 cubic inch straight 6.

Amazing condition. I'd be surprised if he gets that kind of money tho. No V6 in that era, it was early 60's AFAIK. A lot of people seem confused by the nomenclature.

Nice looking truck. It helps that they stole the 54 Ford grill.
It seems like a decent price as well.

Beautiful rig, and a dumper to boot. The truck is a 1-1/2 ton, equivalent to a F-4 / F-400. I believe trucks below class 8 run the same GVW designations across the industry with few deviations. Unless it has been repowered, it likely has the 235 engine, which was the base engine for many years. Not sure if the 261 was even offered in the 4400 series.

Had a 54 with a 261 in it. But (CRS) don't remember the series. Some searching mentioned 2 ton series might have one.
