Early 99 F250 Super Duty 4x4 Hub Spacers Washers
I have a 1999 F250 Super Duty 4x4 Crew Cab XLT Long Bed.
This is an Early 99 with the 10mm Flange. (Build Date October 1998)
The front Driver Side 4x4 Wheel Bearing Hub went out today. The bearing came completely apart.
I ordered a replacement hub, and I know I also need the Dust Seal, and Axle Seal.
As I was looking around for parts, I noticed a lot of guides show two washers and some kind of Hex Washer, or Thrust Washer behind the Retainer Clip. I only found two washers and a C-Clip in my hub.
Does anyone know if the Early 1999 needs something other than Two Large washers behind the C-Clip? See the last picture.
I'm guessing the passenger side needs attention too so I might take that side off and see what's there. I'm wondering if anyone might have the Factory Service Manual or might have an Early 1999 that could tell me if I'm missing something.
Enjoy the pictures...

You can use the newer 99 (after 3-98?) hub with 13 mm thick flange as long as you get the later disk brake rotor. 2 round washers and one hex fiber washer, then snap ring on stub axle to retain washers. Looks like you need a new locking hub as well. If you were located near Delaware, I have a spare stub axle and bearing. No 4x4 locking hub tho, I had to get a new one.

Hum, so the hex washer is fiber? I was wondering why it was missing, maybe it just disintegrated?
It looks like Spicer makes a thrust washer kit 701166X that has the two washers, hex washer, and c-clip. There is also thrust washer 47766 which has some slots in it. I read somewhere that washer is for the auto locking hubs, so I'm not sure if that one is missing to or if it's not needed with Manual Lockouts.
I considered going with the newer hubs, but my rotors are good so I went with the early hubs. FYI, it's 3/10/99 not 3-98.

This is correct. The unit bearings with the sensor for the 4 wheel anti-lock brakes are about the cheapest. I just cut the wire off.

I got an new early 99 hub without ABS for $57.00 from Detroit Axle. One year warranty, which was cheaper than buying late model hub and rotor...
I ordered Ford Part F81Z3B458AA which includes the two round washers and the hex washer.
I talked to the owner of my local 4x4 shop, and he said all I need is the two washers and the hex washer.
I asked him about the other Thrust washer with the four groves (Ford Part F81Z4228BA), and he said I don't need that one... Where would that one go? Between the outer Axle seal (Ford Part F81Z3254CB) and the Hub Bearing?

Yes- Drive the axle seal (big one) into the knuckle, then the washer with 4 grooves (grooves toward seal) Then hub bearing.

Once you hammer on the big seal on the axle and you insert the axle into the tube then you install the plastic washer on the end of the axle then the bearing. Go and look at the replace ball joints thread on here..pic'''
Check your ujoints or just replace...check your ball joints now.
As said above should have went with 2000 bearings and rotors. Old ones are not gonna be avail at some point. 515021 is the number. non abs.
