Headliner questions

Hi Gang. Doing some last details. I need assistance or advice on a headliner. Went to a local shop and they were not to interested in doing it. Said I would need a custom shop.

What have you guys used. I see kits in Mid Fifty but know nothing about them

thanks.

If you want to keep it original the only one they have is the grey cardboard headliner. And that is not even totally correct as the deluxe cabs and later Custom Cabs had perforated headliners. And afaik, no one makes that yet.

Thanks Abe. I saw the cardboard one. $120. Seems little steep for cardboard

They have the headliner, Back panels door to door and kick panels, It is kind'a pricy for cardboard but it's the shipping that will get you. Unless you have a dealer close!

They are also a pain to install. I had a helper and it was still hard not to crease the cardboard headliner during the installation process. I used the "sharpened screw" technique to find the center screw location.

I used the mid fifty poly one and had my upholsterer do black suede on it. Love the end result:

I got the poly liner from Classic Haulers/Mid Fifty and then covered it with headliner material. So far I am happy with the results.
