Looking for a long bed

If you guys wouldn't mind helping me out, I'm searching for a long bed to fit my truck, hoping to find one around central PA but don't mind traveling a little bit for the right one. Appreciate the assistance

Awesome, thank you. Haven't seen that one yet, just sent out an email.

I can't believe how hard it's been to find an 8' bed

Another good option lol. I like the looks of the first one (maybe less rust?) and I already have 2 trucks sititng haha, don't want another if I can help it but for the price might be worth it. I'm sure theres some good parts left there.

Certainly let me know if you find any more

I've been trying to sell my 8' box since last October for $500. Nobody wanted it. I ended up cutting it up into usable pieces, so I could store it in my shed.

That makes me sad

Not much I can do about that now though, and honestly I don't think I'd be able to make it to Ontario for it

Though I guess if its in smaller pieces it would be easier for you to ship it, right? lol

Hey that first blue one is semi close to me. I been seeing it on the nearby Craigslist for awhile now. Looks decent from the pics. Your lucky your looking for a long bed. I see them often for sale. I been on the hunt for a good short bed for quite some time. Found some but I'm not paying there prices. You PM'd me on "the other" forum about your hunt for a bed. I might be able to help in transporting that bed if you got it.

Thanks bud, I couldn't remember if this was your tag or not over here. I thought so haha

I hope that guy is nicer in person than he is in email, yikes. I totally get it, craigshnit is full of people who are less than scrupulous. First response I get was "if it was rust free I'd be asking 1200 blah blah blah" lol.

Appreciate the offer for transport. I might have a trailer lined up but if not I'll def be getting ahold of you, thanks again

You're right, nobody was able to travel this far for it. I still have most of the pieces though. Complete box sides and front panel. Just the floor and crossmembers were rotten beyond repair. Good luck on your search!

Another option is to look for utility truck bed trailers on Craigslist or wantads. A lot of times the truck with a bad engine or trans was scrapped out, and made into a trailer. Sometimes the beds will be almost pristine unless covered with a sheet of plywood which trapped water.

Thank you, I appreciate it. Depending on what I come across maybe we can work out a deal and I can buy some parts from you and you can have more shed space lol

Good point, I didn't think about that. Most of the bumpside beds I see are in fact trailers around here lol, seems like I see them all the time. Usually they're beat to heck but I definitely should broaden my search

You definitely get a variety of people when you deal with Craigslist. I've dealt with some characters over the years. My thing is if your description or pics don't go into much detail you can't really get annoyed by people asking questions or double checking to make sure it's in the condition as mentioned. I try to be as clear as possible anytime I sell stuff so I don't get so many questions. Let me know if you get the bed or need any help with it.

Also like mentioned try finding trailers made from beds I seen some people get great deals that way.

That's for sure lol.

Well I widened my search radius, found another potential candidate down in VA I might have to just bring home to the junkyard, er I mean retirement home lol. Another 69 with a 6 cylinder and column shift. Good thing I have a spare 360/4speed sitting. If I'm lucky I might have some spare parts to give up here soon
