Vacuum Reservoir plumbing

Morning All,

Getting near to getting the engine fired up and cab back on my '51 F5 Marmon Herrington 4x4 and am looking at getting a vacuum reservoir to "improve" the stock wipers instead of going electric.
But, since I've also got the brake booster I'm wondering if I should keep the stock check valve and put the reservoir on the wipers only; or put a tee in after the reservoir, do away with the stock check valve, and feed both the wipers and the brake booster?

Cheers,

Mike

You'll want to leave the brake vacuum line alone so it operates as it does now. Where the wiper vacuum line attaches to the manifold currently, run that line to the new vacuum can with a check valve, then run the wiper line, and any other vacuum accessories you might have, off of the can.

perfect! that's what I was wondering. Thanks Wayne.

Pictures to follow tomorrow of my rebuilt booster on the rebuild thread. To go with a new master, and new lines.

I'm planning on something similar on my F-6. I have an old three gallon Freon canister that I plan on using as a reservoir with a vacuum check valve low vacuum warning light. I'm going to tee it in downstream (away from the carb) of the OEM check valve.
