You can add 200+ degrees to be close to accurate EGT's temp.

Yes, the preferred location for the egt probe is in the bottom of the drivers side exhaust manifold

So what am I missing here? it looks like on some of these engines the turbo is turned more parallel with the firewall than on my truck where its kind of at an angle...

The more parallel ones are a turbo upgrade sitting on a T4 platform. Different DP also.

Oh no I don't have one.. yet! We'll see what I can afford once I get all the necessary other parts taken care of. I think my turbo will need some rebuilding because the blades have some chipping to them, so an intercooler may have to wait.

Yeah, like 91Dually says, the best spot is at the bottom of the driver's side exhaust manifold. The exhaust gets cooled going through the turbo so it's best to measure the temp before the turbo. Easy enough to move it, just drill and tap a hole. Lots of threads and discussion on it.

You can add a couple hundred degrees to the measurement now, but I like to measure it right in the first place.

It needs to be moved to the drivers side exhaust manifold for the most accurate reading.

Attachment 138404. Completely stock except for the ts chip. I haven't seen to many Powerstroke's with the plastic engine cover in place.
