Instrument & Radio Bezel Info - Help Needed

I've added a new page to the web site: Instrument & Radio Bezels - ?Gary's Garagemahal. On it I've included:
  1. A spreadsheet wherein I've tried to show what bezel finishes were available each year
  2. The information from the master parts catalog showing the part #'s
  3. The information showing on the backs of some of the radio bezels - which is not the part number.
So, how can you help? Please post pics in this thread of bezels, both front and rear, as well as what model truck they came from. That way I can figure out what part number they are and include the info that shows on the rear.

Note, that's for both instrument/center bezels as well as radio/right bezels.

Gary, I can get some pics posted of my 84 rosewood diesel set and my 86 burl wood diesel set. I also have a 81 rosewood radio bezel with the bigger holes for the Ranger Lariat/Ranger XLT emblems and a 86 silver weave radio bezel. I have others but those are the ones that I know for sure the vehicle year. Might be a good excuse to hit the junkyard to look for ones that you are missing

I got to ONE of my bezels today... instrument bezel from my 1986 F350 XL 6.9 diesel. I will post more later when I get to my storage.

Great! Are there any other #'s or letters?

I find an entry for 85/86 F250/350 - - diesel, w/integral A/C * E5TZ 15044D70-F Center-wood grain finish. That would be yours, right?

Yes, that's the one. I'll have to look at it again and see if there are any other marks besides the engineering number. The number in the picture is all that I found in that area on the back of the bezel.

Here are some that I have easily-available in my basement, others later; the black-weave one is what was originally in my 1981 F350 when I got it, the other is from a JY or some such:

Gary,
It looks like there could have been a number just ahead of the marking that was hacked out on my bezel. Looks like Chris' rosewood bezel has a "8" there.

Anyway, also from Chris' collection here are photos he sent me of his XLS bezel set:

Okay, I hit the Flagstaff junkyard and got a few more on the list. Again, not the most photogenic examples but the information is there...

First truck, 1986 F250 with silver weave bezels. I bought the radio bezel earlier, got pics of the instrument bezel this trip:

Next truck is a 1986 F150 XLT Lariat with burl wood bezels. I bought the radio bezel from this truck also but it's in storage. Here is the instrument bezel anyway:

Next truck is a 1984 F250. This is probably redundant with the rosewood bezel Chris posted, but here it is:

Next there is a 1982 F150 with black weave. One thing I noticed is that the upper left hand lens in the bezel was blacked out from the factory instead of having the up-shift icon (emissions light in 85/86).

I don't know if your list includes the medium duty trucks, but if there is any place to include it here is a 1980 F600 radio bezel with the FORD name plate:

Ever see a tank selector switch labeled "left" and "right"?

And then we have a radio bezel from a 1981 F150 Ranger XLT with the 80/81 type name plate holes:

I will try to knock out a few more when I can get to my storage and to the other junkyard in Prescott. I know of a couple non-AC trucks there if they haven't gone to the crusher. You don't see many in Arizona... wonder why??

Wow! Thanks. That's a gold mine of info. Unfortunately I will be unable to put it in the table for a while, but I will do at the first opportunity. Thanks!

All in good time, maybe I will have the others by then and you can update it all at once. And it can't be said enough... Thank-you for compiling, organizing, and presenting all this information for everyone to access. Your website is monumental and much appreciated.

Chris, I am taking a closer look at your non-AC weave bezel. It is the silver finish weave, and even though it came from your 83 truck it looks to me like it is the 85/86 style without the chrome paint trim on the edges. It is hard to tell sometimes because the reflections on the plastic can look like paint remnants in the pictures. Can you confirm if your bezel has any of the silver trim paint? The other junkyard has a 1986 truck with silver weave, non-AC so hopefully we can compare engineering numbers as well if it is still there when I go. Your bezel is not what I would expect for 83... unless there is silver trim paint that I can't see in the pictures.

I have an '85 non-A/C XL IDI with burled; would it be useful to have the number off it?
