Boost issues

I was recently pulling a flat bed with a truck on it from tulsa to Denver and my.boost was showing high. (Never saw it go over 24lbs) now all of a sudden it's hitting almost 38. It is driving like it has less power. It shows boost when I barely give it gas. I can get it to almost 20lbs barely giving it any throttle. And it definitely doesn't feel like 20 lbs of boost. Any ideas?

My truck hits 30lbs of boost with ease. 40 plus is where you need to be concerned. Can you monitor exhaust back pressure?

I don't have a way to monitor. My issue is that it never got that high before... and it hops up to 20psi with hardly any throttle and the truck doesn't feel like it's getting that much boost... it is showing way more boost than normal and feels like it has less power than before.

The truck is deleted and slightly tuned.

Do you have a monitor? Its very possible your ebp sensor is going bad.

What is ebp reading at idle? The veins in the turbo could also be stuck closed as well... Its not as common on a 6.4 as on a 6.0 but I have seen it happen.

I do not have a monitor. I bought the truck and don't have the tuner or anything. Huge mistake I know. But still trying to solve this issues. At idle I am at zero. Then under light throttle it builds boost on the gage rapidly.

If you need a gauge quick, ScanGauge II is in stock at most autoparts stores. It will require a little programming, but it will give you a way to monitor sensor outputs when you leave the parking lot. AutoZone has 20% off, and you can take it back when you get a better tool through mail. Just an idea. LMK if you go that route, I can help you get your ScanGauge set up with all the values you will need.

Like gino said, at least get a SGII.

There is little to nothing you can do to diag your truck without a monitor, your only other option is to throw parts at it (always a bad idea) or take it to a shop.
