Ford F250 Pulls tractor trailer out of the snow
So, I mostly lurk around here, hardly posting at all. I saw this today, and knew I had to share it with you guys.
A welder who was on his way home in Rochester, NY helped pull a semi out of several inches of snow on the highway.

My SD saved me last week. I slid my kubota tractor with an 1100Lb. round bale of baleage, chained to the bucket, backwards into a ditch in ice and snow. I was able to dump the bale, push it out of the way with the ranch-hand, and pull the tractor out, while on sheet ice. I love my SD! the studded snows sure help too!

Before I bought my 2010 F350SD 4X4 6-Speed, I was on the fence whether to buy Ford or Dodge. That was settled when watching an episode of Gold Rush on Discovery, where a stuck semi towing a low boy trailer hauling a 20,000lb rock wash plant stuck in the Yukon mud, was pulled up the road with the full load behind, by one of the gold Miner's F350 SD. SOLD!

I love seeing these videos. Another what not to do. A chain wrapped around a hitch ball. A hitch ball is not a recovery point. Hitch *****=cannonballs. This could only be worse if he were shock loading the chain. Offering to help is a great thing to do, but do it correctly and safely. Someone is better off being stuck, than being injured or worse from a broken chain or hitch ball flying, or having a tore up car from it. Just because everyone does this all the time doesn't make it right. I've seen it happen. Use a strap, not a chain. If you don't have a recovery point put the strap loop in your receiver and put the pin thorough it as a next best option. I help anyone when I can but I do it correctly so I don't hurt myself, my truck, someone else or their vehicle.
