Appreciate the help BB!

The VIN is F10YRD34760

I already know it's an F100 with the 360 built in San Jose. I think that's about all the info you can get from the VIN, correct?

Also, I have listed "M3" color and trans "17", and "3 81F" is also on there, but I can't tell what it's supposed to mean. It doesn't look like there is anything stamped under "Axle" either.

And, for Opiewan's sake, the truck is a '68...

M = Wimbledon White

3-Yucatan Gold

17= 3.25 Ratio

81 - Conventional Cab
F = 4 spd ? or Interior colour Blue (sounds too weird).

Doesn't "F10" mean it's an F100?

I'll post everything as soon as I get another look at the plate. Thanks!

Yes F10 Pickup code means F-100.
an F100 Super Cab would be X10

An F250 4x4 would be F25
An F250 4x4 would be F26
An F250 4x4 super cab would be X26

Well, I finally had a chance to look at the door tag - here's what's on it:

Top line is the VIN

Second line:
131 M3 F100 3 81 F 17

Third line:
05000 172 3800 74

Most of it I have already figured out - 131 is wheelbase, M3 is color Yucatan Gold/Wimbledon White, F100 duh, 3, 81, F and 17 have me stumped, mostly because they do not really line up with any of the preprinted stuff on the tag. 05000 is the GVWR, 172 us net hp of the 360 @ 3800 rpm, and 74 I'm pretty sure is the ordering district - Seattle - which makes sense because I know the truck was previously titled in Oregon.

Any help is, as always, greatly appreciated!

Yes, they don’t line up very well but I think it’s this:

3 81 is the interior trim and body code – Med. Beige Ladder & Crush Vinyl

F is the transmission code – 4-speed Warner T-18

17 is the rear axle code - Ford 9” 3.25 ratio, 3300lb.

Does that match up?

Sounds about right. Looks like the truck is all original, which is nice. I have seen paint color charts around, but do you have a link to the interior trim colors?

Thanks for the help, Barry!

From the info on the data plate,I'd say your truck is a 69 not a 68.

This should get you half way there.

I'm reasonably certain it's a '68. I have no idea what "Med. Beige Ladder & Crush Vinyl" is - my interior is off-white (parchment?) and black.
