I Started the thread on the Dana 44 rear axle. Does anyone know if the inner and outer seals are the same? The parts store I like, (not auto zone or the other one) could not find a reference for the outer seal that is in the retainer plate. I can see the part in my axle and in the shop manual diagram.

2) C8TZ-1177-A .. Axle Shaft Inner Seal / Spicer number: 34419 / Shown as basic number 1177 in Ford pic.

2) C6TZ-1181-A .. Axle Shaft Outer Seal / Spicer number: 32758 / Shown as basic number 1181 in Ford pic.
