My '96 doesn't have an intercooler. have any of you added one to your truck? If so, was it a garage build or did you purchase a kit? Other than fundage, what's teh worst part about it?

Some buy kits, and some use a SD IC and fab the mounts and IC pipes themselves. I build as much of my own stuff as I can. It's a lot cheaper, and I just enjoy it. Some guys don't have the means to do a lot a fab work and build this stuff, and that's very understandable, but the more you can DIY, the more money you will save.

Of you decide to build your own, get a 6.0 intercooler, and steel super duty intercooler pipes. On the pipes all you have to do is add 3" on the passenger side intercooler side, and 7"-8" to the driver side on the turbo side, thats if your using the e99 spider.

So what would a guy expect to pay for the IC out of an SD, with the piping?

Build one of those to divide the outlet and inlets.
5 90* 3" bends and a 45*3" bend and the clamps and boots will get the job done.
For boots n clamps check silicone intakes .com
Buy the 3" material in a long length and cut pieces.
