I've developed "PMS"!...This site has ruined me!

I can get the whole assembly from RockAuto for about $125, but was hoping to buy just the float. I found a brass float for the gasoline units, and the float on it looks just like the one on a diesel unit. I can get that float for less than $10. I may find when I pull mine, I can drain it, clean it up, and re-solder it. I'm no apprentice when it comes to soldering..........

Man what a summer! Nothing has gone as planned! I hoped to have the front tank dropped and the new float assembly installed by now, I had also hoped to have the PSOM removed, repaired, and back in by now. I even had grand thoughts of having the old flat down pipe removed and a new 3" down pipe installed by now......Life goes on!...SHEESH!...

I'm Getting back on track after the summer not going as planned. I'm still on a quest to correct the jumpy speedometer and non-working cruise control. So!.....this week I've pulled the rear differential cover for an internals inspection. I found one tooth on the tone ring that was slightly bent to one side (how does that happen), but I was able to straighten it back into place. Everything else looked good. Cleaned out the housing, new cover seal and new rear diff lubricant. Took the truck to my mechanic to check the VSS output on his diagnostic machine. It wasn't very impressive, so he put in a new VSS. While he had it on his lift, I handed him a new sending unit and had him drop the front fuel tank and make that repair. I still have a jumpy speedometer and non-functioning cruise control, so now I have the gauge cluster out and it is on it's way to Cluster Fix (Cluster Fix | Instrument Cluster Repair) to be rebuilt. My truck will be down next week while this is being accomplished. I hope this final action produces the desired effect.
