I have a 2014 2.5 V4 from a focus , the car had been scrapped so I do not have a VIN from it . I want to install this engine and trans in my sons 2005 Escape which has a 2.3 engine that has gone bad . Where can I look to determine what ECM and Trans Control I should put in the Escape to make the swap and for it to operate correctly . Is there a number on the engine I can use since there is no VIN .

All the Focus stuff would have to come with the engine. Gauges, ignition, harness, computer etc. AFAIK, the Focus would have the PATS system, and there is no way around it. Even after that, you would have to fabricate a lot of parts.

Also, note The engine is an in-line 4.

This swap is a non-starter. If you want the Escape to run again, find an OEM spec 2.3 motor.
