360 apparently running rich

For a good while my truck ran fine while warm, but now after changing the oil and air filter the engine sputters and shakes regardless of temp. Does it right at start up and will continue on to normal temp, when warm it runs as though I have my choke closed (whichever it is for cold starts) if I give gas to quickly it sputters and cries and when I gently give it gas the engine almost misfires and shakes the whole truck. Nothing was touched on the truck during oil change other than I may have bumped some linkage while putting the whole air filter housing on? Need help before something really gets screwy

Sounds like either a vacuum leak or the filter housing is binding up the choke. Just a guess from here with no visual or sound.

Sounds a lot like yer choke isn't opening all the way when warm...stuck in semi-closed position. Agree with you and 69cj about checking the choke linkage.

Took a look at the carburetor again and it appears I broke the linkage between the vacuum pump actuator piece and the part that actually controls the choke, not allowing the choke to open when I push the ****, so the choke is actually more manual now that I'll have to open it myself LOL

Well, at least you got the problem solved - you know what it is.

Thanks for getting back to the rest of us with the dilemma uncovered.
