NEED 5.4L engine, what VIN # will work for #5?
I’m lookingfor a good used , complete engine for mytruck, close by, so I can hear it run ,and besides the VIN ‘5’ engine that my truck has it in it now, are there anyother VIN codes that I can accept. I found a good ViN ‘L’ engine from a van,and I know there were E85 compatible engines also. My understanding is that I need a 2004-2010engine,Thanx .Crossy

Are you looking to dump the truck and just need something that runs or are you going to keep it? Whats your price range? A reman engine might work better. I posted a reply to another guy looking for an engine here:

PowerSource has a shipping location in Teterboro. Looking at your profile you might be real close to there. You may want to give them a call.

I checked them out- seems like a good deal if I want to spend that much even though I despise that part of NJ, and I would have to go there twice.
I am not sure what I am doing with that truck yet. They are so nice to drive when they are healthy, but I am basically a diesel head now. thanx for the reply. Crossy
