I have a 96 7.3 powerstroke with rebuilt injectors, new hpop and various other parts. There is diesel and soot coming out of the exhaust and running rough. I just put those injectors and pump on....no miles on it yet. What could cause this and the check engine light isn't on.
I'd say one or more bad injectors. But that is a lot of diesel to go threw the exhaust. Why did you do this? Did it get real hot? Could have other problems.

We've had problems with this truck for a while. It started running rough and blowing tons of white smoke so the dealership hooked it up on a machine and said it was the pcm so we changed it and same thing so they said it must've been bad so changed it same thing then they said valve cover harness still same then injectors changed them still nothing finally thought it was ipr no luck either then unplugged the ipr truck still ran so trouble shot that to a bad hpop installed a new one and now it won't run or start when ipr is unplugged so it was bad now there is this fuel issue
Hard to determine from the run-on sentence, but it sounds like a lot of parts were REPLACED, and it sounds like they were shotgunned. What parts were TESTED, and what other DIAGNOSTICS (i.e. on-board tests, trouble code scans, etc) were done, and what were the RESULTS?
Stealerships at their best. Excuse me while I grab this trash can and throw up. Probably charged you $1,500 for a pcm and $1,000 for a hpop, etc. What do these things have to do with fuel coming out of the exhaust? Sorry Ricardo, I'm just venting when I hear these stories.

Fuel in exhaust? My diagnostic tool here says that uhhmm errrmmm uhhh the PCM shorted out, causing it to pour diesel out of the exhaust.
Actually, I *THINK* (although again, the punctuation-impaired style makes this a guess) the whole issue of fuel pouring out came AFTER throwing all the parts at it. The OP just had a non-specific performance issue initially.
