I think this deserves a response because you raise a valid question. Here are some reasons *I* think its worth it, with important caveats.

-The motors are good for 300-400+ miles and if you're only part way there, why discard it?
-The 7.3 International/Navistar is one of the better/more reliable motors produced for full sized trucks. Kinda cool to have an International motor.
-No need for DEF (mixed feelings about this because these motors are very polluting)
-If your truck is long since paid off or you got it for close to nothing () this is way cheaper then buying a new truck. A new XLT is $55k!
-If you've owned your truck for a long time, you know how its been maintained. That's CRITICAL.
-If you've recently invested in major parts for your truck (tranny, axle, motor) then why discard the truck?
-Its bloody fun to have a brand new looking truck that's really 15 years old!
-If you're up in the 200k miles range you can justify HP upgrades (injectors, HPOP, turbo) because you're probably in need of expensive motor maintenance items like injectors and HPOP and now you have a truck that makes modern HP and TQ numbers.
-With ~1 Million 7.3s still on the road, parts abound.
-These trucks retain their value extremely well.
-Trucks are kinda crude beasts, me thinks, and even the new F350s still drive like trucks. These are no sports cars and they never will be. In other words I dont think they evolve as quickly as passenger cars do in terms of comfort, performance and driveability. (They still have leaf springs and frame on body and solid rear axles and crude 4WD systems with locking front axles)
-Its BLOODY FUN!

On the other side:

-The new diesels are cool for sure...Ive driven the 6.7. Lots of HP, very quiet, amazing turning radius! Did I mention how quiet it is? Maybe too quiet?
-Its a lot of work!
-The 7.3 is loud. Kinda annoys me. I looked into header covers (sound deadeners) like they use on marine engines but one maker said their wasnt enough space. (https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...nd-tranny.html)

What about the paint on the new bed? Does it match? or do you need to have it repainted?

That's great then you may do even better on prices than I did!!
The bed is factory Ford primer which works out for me as I'm repainting the whole truck.

Where am I using the fender/body bolts and do I need all 25? For the hood bumper stops, you have F812-16 758ab, is that for the older style or new? Ford gave me the 2011 part number as bc3z16758A. Also, the part numbers for the fender curves..left bc3z16n455a...right bc3z16n454a

I used most of them on the brackets and wanted new on my fenders since everything else was new but you can use your old ones and it also depends on how many holes you drill for the brackets, I wanted mine real sturdy. I ordered new of the older style bumper stops.

Does the McNasty kit not come with pre drilled for the bracket? How holes did you drill? And will the newer bump stops not work? How many spacers did you use for the hood hinges and where else will they be needed?

Yes they are pre drilled and you can use your discretion on how many you want to use. Not sure as I kept my old style hood bumpers and I recomend buying the spacer kit at Harbor Freight for 9 bucks as all trucks are different and the amount of spacers will depend on the truck. I used them for spacing the fenders as well.

I have never looked at one in detail but looking at the diagram No I dont think you do as the inner grill holds the grille bars and ford oval and they are all one piece with the black grille so I think you should be good!!

I have the cheap version also and you're good to go. Make sure it has the rubber seal on top.

Re: Parts list

Is this what you mean by fender cover at bumper curve? (Fender-Lower Cover Left BC3Z16N455A and Fender-Lower Cover Right BC3Z16N454A)

Thanks hwybee22,

Im buying it new, so I assume it does come with the seal.

If you add decals it makes that black grill "pop". https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...A1WB63FAJ00QST

They take the chrome thing a little too far on the Lariat's etc. Next they will offer a completely chrome truck. sheez

Regarding the tow mirrors. Did you go with aftermarket? The OEMs are bloody expensive.

I found these on AMAZON which are heated and powered (of course) for $188 delivered.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...I2RC0NN4CX#Ask

As for headlights...OEM are absurdly expensive. VIPMOTO makes "nicer" units for half the price. You can get fogs, 3rd brake light and headlights for the price of one OEM headlight assembly: 11-16 Ford F-250 Supderduty High Stop Light Fog Lights Projector Headlights LED
