Help me ID this rivet please.

Can anyone please tell me what kind of rivet this is? I've sat here for an hour googling everything I can think of. I searched thru the entire Fastenal and POP catalog and nothing even close. Helppppp!!!

Thanks!

That's some crazy kind of pre-bulbed rivet. Possibly for attaching soft material to hard material without too much compression?

Huh... now that I posted I see other responses that weren't there before

Those are just plain rivets. I'm having trouble finding the actual name of the rivet that has the extra shoulder in it. Once installed it makes a stud to place window trim clips on. Thanks for the reply.

Wayne, I think those are what the kid's are using for body art these days. This allows them to trade off which earrings and do-dads to hang off there face, nose lips, ears, or whatever. I think they may be called lip posts or something like that. Im obviously just kidding , but just couldn't help myself.

Well thanks Jim! I'm afraid to google "lip post" , that's for sure.

Have you checked with Jim Dix at Big Flats Rivet? I don't find the exact rivet listed on his site, but he may have a name and source.

Big Flats Rivet - Home

I also looked through McMaster-Carr with no success. Stu

If you know now where to get them, what difference does it make what they're called?

BTW I remember these from my son's Fox-body. As I recall the window trim has a keyhole slot that you put over the rivets and then slide to lock.

Those were used for certain trim clips on Fords. They would replace the stock studs that some of the vehicles had.

Try the Ford dealer, maybe even their body shop.
