Data logging

How many of you use the data logging on torque pro or dash boss? I finally got around to setting it up and it is nice. Especially with issues and trying to read data on the pid gauges ypu miss stuff. couple things i noticed. One is my ficm is wonderful. Never drops below 47. Next my battery volts koeo actually went to 10v at one point. Once started it will go to 11.5 for a few seconds then stays at 14 to 14.4. I thought that bit of data was interesting as i don't see the 10v part on scangauge or torque app as it happens so fast.

because your gauges smooth the data or can't respond fast enough. As long as you don't go below 9.5v, your good.

I just hooked up the Dashboss last week. Haven't messed with the data logging much yet. I read that you can e-mail it as well. It sure is a great option to be able to get a clear picture of what is going on and tackle issues as they appear before they become a bigger problem.

Sure is. Do your drive then look at the data to trouble shoot instead of while driving. I do the same fishing. I record then go over later and make way points that i didn't put in while fishing.

Didn't think about the smoothing.

Yep, that is what I do with my 7.3L's. Take the data from Auto Enginuity then change the raw data over to graphs to see what is or isn't happening. Especially with the EBP sensor and HPOP.

But now with the Dashboss it seems like the graphing is already done. I just need to learn what to look for on the 6.0L's - I'm still learning. Maybe a thread on some stock PID graphs for comparison would be good..........

Also good for noticing changes over time.
I save all my data logs for every time I drive it. I plan on comparing a few of last years number with this years to see if anything has changed so slowly that I didnt notice.

side note I originally started data logging for the GPS and speed logs as a back up for when / if I get into an accident. Hard data beats what I say with insurance companies every time. Been in too many he said she said oddball accidents in the past.

From what I've seen I think DB is quite a bit better in the data logging area. I log trips also, but you have to set up what you want to log as a separate task in Torque -- it looks like DB you just tell it to log any real-time screen you have up, I think that is well thought out.

I port my logs to excel and do analysis of the data on spreadsheets...

I just started messing with the data logging on Dashboss. Still getting used to the much higher ICP's & Duty Cycle numbers copared to the 7.3L.

One thing I know zero about is the VGT tubo on the 6.0L. Besides the VGT Duty Cycle, are there any other PID's to watch /log to check on the VGT turbo?

Just remember that the VGT duty cycle is a desired/commanded value not an actual indication of the position of the VGT solenoid itself.

Been looking at my logs daily (the few days I've driven it this week)
Doing so i can predict about everything I'm going to see while driving and the logs match exactly. Leadt it's consistent when ithe turbo is acting up lol.

Indirectly IF the system is working correctly. MAP and the EBP # can
tell you what it doing but like I said that is indirect. I'll try and post
the graph in the turbo test screen from IDS.
