Even though that copy and past is NOT clear about the complete frame or just the rear section on the HB being narrower. I believe it is only the rear section that is narrower?

Glad to see you got some new hangers. Good for you twinzilla!

ill measure the frame tonight and if someone with a high boy could do the same we will get to the bottom of this!

im thinking we measure the engine mount hole centers and the inside of the frame where the engine mounts are located...

im sure this will be a lot easier for anyone with a motor pulled out currently..

and then I found this...
this tells me with the mount that are for the high boy would only have to me modified 3/8" each way!
I can probably buy ChaseTruck754 mounts and mod them to work!

I tried to send him a PM, his in box if full. Maybe drop a word on the California chapter forum. It has a North and Southern chapter, and his location is Costa Mesa, CA which is southern.

slow moving

so I got home and looked like a kid at Christmas..
I opened my box from rock auto to find they split my order and the rest will not be here till Friday...

I put in my seals last night.. and I put new light and glass in the sandblasting cabinet so I can work on some other parts tonight...

this axle stuff is slow.. I really wish I could afford to pay someone right now...

3/22/2016 update

I got all the brake components painted.
I got the front axle back together and in tolerance.
I got the Cummins up on a stand so I can start working on it
I got the rear axle apart yesterday.. its ready for sand blasting and paint.
I got my bolts painted and installed on the frame and I think the color contrast is great!

last weak I got to work on my friends Cummins.. we installed a he351cw, 4" straight exhaust, and 140hp injectors... his first gen is now a very healthy running truck..

I'm actually impressed with the strength of it..
I have a nice homemade engine stand made of 3"x.25 square tube but the engine is simply too long.. with my big block 460 it works fine but with this Cummins being heavier and longer it makes a 3 wheeled stand not work.. 3 wheels want to tip like a trike... my engine already hit the ground once and broke the timing cover..
even with the 4 wheels It still wants to indo into the floor when you push it.. the blocks on the back really helped balance it though...

I have the same engine stand for my Cummins. Make sure to grease the pivot joint. It makes it a little easier to turn back right side up. Major PIA otherwise.

Not sure what you figured out for engine mounts but I ended up cutting my stock mounts flat and then used 1/8" steel to make motor mounts. I think it might be on page 2 of my build. I have been unable to work on it over the winter though. Hopefully going to get back into it this spring.
