Broke off screw in throttle body

Hey all,

Just wondering if there's any other solution than buying another throttle body for my Ranger,1999 2.5. I was replacing the idle air control valve, and the bolt broke off in the throttle body. I tried various ways to get it out. Long story short, that screw hole is out of commission. Can you replace it with just one screw or some other way to rig it?

Thanks for any suggestions.
Steve

Hard to say from here, but if the bolt is flush maybe you can use a hack saw to cut a slot in it for a screwdriver. I did this on a broken alternator screw.

drill it out, drill the hole in the IAC out a bit larger, tap the bolt hole with new threads and just use a slightly larger bolt than the old one.

HI if the screw is not bottomed out and the head is gone there is really nothing holding it in except gunk. So if you can remove the rest of the part you should be able to back the screw out easily by hand or with a reverse (left handed) drill bit if it is below the housing..

good luck take care be safe
