Where's the PCV valve on the 99 Explorer SOHC 4.0?
I recently purchased a PCV valve for my 99 Explorer with the SOHC 4.0L V-6 only to find no existing PCV valve on the engine to replace! Does anyone know where Ford has hidden it? I know on the pushrod V-6 it is near the brake booster. I looked there but to no avail. On the right cylinder bank there is a hose emerging from the valve cover but with no PCV valve on it nor is there a place to put one. I am totally lost here. Any would be appreciated. Thanks.

Its there. Take off the plastic engine cover and look to the back of the engine near the firewall. You will see some hoses and one that has a T-shaped connector on it with hoses going into each end of the T. Remove the hoses so you have it still in one piece (2 hoses should go to air intake, the other down to the motor). You will see the PCV there. The T connectory has to be removed from the valve but be careful, its kinda fragile. Hope this helps.
