Because Race Truck

Because Race Truck
I think it's getting close enough and enough people know what's going on with the truck at this point to go ahead and post a thread on it.
Most of y'all know my 1995 regular cab at this point. The truck currently has 160/100 injectors, S465 turbo, Wildman tunes, Terminator modded 17* HPOP, Dieselsite fuel system with a Walbro pump, DI 7.3 intercooler, Snow water methanol system. It made 523hp in this arrangement spraying a 55% mixture of VP MP1 methanol and 465hp on fuel only. It was a great street truck and I put a bunch of miles on it. As the truck grew closer to 400k miles, I fell behind on maintenance and eventually I blew apart the bellows in the uppipes and parked the truck when I bought a newer daily driver.
The OBS was parked a little over 2 years ago. In that time I haven't even so much as cleaned the poor thing one time. I finally started gathering parts when I got my Super Duty to a point that I was happy with it for daily driving. I'm almost done buying parts and Cody is in progress of building his new shop. So the OBS is going under the knife soon. Here's the a quick overview of what I'm doing.
Pull the 400k mile engine and replace with a lower mileage stock bottom end engine.
Beginning engine mods:
450/400 hybrids
Barder billet S475 turbo
Carson Stauffer T4 mount
H11 head studs
Comp beehive valve springs
DI pushrods
Terminator twin pumps
Marty's Diesel A1000 fuel system
DI intake plenums
water injection
Convert the truck to auto.. I'm using a BTS trans, Precision converter with a 2500 stall, a PCS controller, BW4407 transfer case, new driveshafts, and driveshaft loops
Convert to 4wd. I'm using 05+ Super Duty axles. Dana 60 front, 10.5" rear.
Axle and suspension mods:
Detroit Locker rear
Detroit Trutrac front
3.55 gears
Mag Hytec diff covers
Warn Hubs
PMF adjustable track bar
PMF traction bars rear
PMF 4 link front
17x10 Weld sandstorm wheels
390/40R17 M&H drag radials
Front tank delete and weld sump in rear fuel tank.
New bed
Gut interior.. Replace dash, install roll cage, race seats, Lexan rear window, and other misc safety equipment to make the truck legal to 10 seconds..
That's a start. Pics of what I have so far will follow.

Yup. This ^^^.. Lol.
Plans for the bottom end will be billet rods (trying to decide on Crower, Manley, or Carrillo), bed plate, filled block, new pistons with bowl work and valve reliefs, cam (possibly solid roller conversion), fully ported heads, and maybe roller rockers. This will be a very long term project, hints why I want it running on a stock bottom end right now.
I think that the stock bottom end will hold for a little while. It will be detuned quite a bit. I'm going to be gutting as much of the truck as I can without sacrificing it looking right. So the interior will be gutted for the most part and anything I can find to take weight out of in the body that nobody will be able to see, I'll take weight out of. I have a weight goal of 6500lbs or less race weight.
Just shy of 1000.. 996 if I remember right. It hasn't been on a dyno in 5 years or so.

I know. Cale Thompson broke the block in half sending rods everywhere and his Hypermax rods were still good. There's a few good running trucks out there with Carillo and Manley rods too though. Manley is the cheapest option. The 7.3 market needs prices on these parts brought down. $2500+ for a set of connecting rods is kinda crazy. Lol.
